Carter picks up another award

Daniel Carter has been named New Zealand's player of the year for 2005.

All Blacks fly half Daniel Carter has continued his domination of the major rugby awards after being named New Zealand's player of the year for 2005.

The Canterbury and Crusaders pivot has had already won International Rugby Board's world player of the year as well as picking up awards at both the International and New Zealand Rugby Players Association prizegivings.

Carter, 23, was in good form in 2005, starring in the All Blacks' 3-0 series demolition of the British and Irish Lions and helping the Crusaders to their fifth Super 12 title, finishing top scorer in the process.
