Chuter: Bring on the Blues

Leicester hooker George Chuter is relishing the prospect of another must-win game.

Leicester hooker George Chuter is relishing the prospect of another must-win game when the Tigers clash with Cardiff Blues at Welford Road on Saturday.

Leicester trail group leaders Munster by four points and with the Irish team facing Pool 4 whipping boys Bourgoin in round five, the Tigers have to win to stay in contention to win the group.

That would set up an intriguing winner-takes-all clash with Munster at Thomond Park in round six.

"We know what we have to do - it is a must-win game," said Chuter. "But ever since we lost at home to Munster in round one, every game has been a must-win one, so there is nothing new about Saturday.

"That 21-19 defeat left us with no room for manoeuvre, but it really was the big kick up the backside we needed at that time - it snapped us back into European mode because the Heineken Cup is different to the Premiership and requires different things."

The Blues have only pride to play for on Saturday - but Chuter is expecting them to show bucketloads of that.

"We expect them to come out with all guns blazing," he added. "They will have a point to prove after losing to us in a very tight game and some of their form in the Magners League shows they can be a real threat.

"After all, there is the extra spice of it being an English team against a Welsh team, so we know it will be a bit special."

As for that trip to Munster looming in the near distance, Chuter admitted: "I would be lying if I said that, ever since we lost to Munster in round one, the game at Thomond Park has not been on our minds. But we can only start really concentrating on that after playing the Blues."
