Joe Launchbury back after six months out of Wasps squad

Joe Launchbury will return to the Wasps squad this weekend after an absence of more than six months.

The England lock has been on the sidelines since October when he suffered a neck injury that required surgery.

Director of rugby Dai Young confirmed Launchbury will be on his bench in the Aviva Premiership clash with Leicester on Saturday and he is looking forward to having him back.

"He (Launchbury) is looking excellent in training," Young told BBC Radio. "He's well rested, really eager, and can't wait to get back on the field.

"So he could be a dangerous animal, not just for us in the last couple of games, but hopefully for England in the World Cup.

"He'll start on the bench, it would be silly to chuck him in. But certainly he will get plenty of game time and hopefully he can build on that.

"We're confident Joe is 100 per cent healed and probably better than he was before."
