Sidoli set for shoulder op

Wales lock Robert Sidoli could miss the start of the Six Nations.

Wales lock Robert Sidoli requires a shoulder operation that will sideline him for up to 10 weeks.

Sidoli has been managing the injury for some time, but aggravated it after coming on as a replacement against Canada last weekend.

The 27-year-old could now miss the start of Wales' Six Nations campaign, which begins against Ireland on February 4.

"Robert has had problems with his shoulder which we have been managing for a period of time but he has now aggravated it to the extent that surgical intervantion is required," said national team physio Mark Davies.

"The injury is no longer responsive to conservative treatment and it is in the player's best interests to undergo surgery which should see him in recovery for eight to 10 weeks."
