Australia revamp front-row

Props David Fitter and Greg Holmes will start for Australia at Lansdowne Road.

Ireland v Australia

International Match, Saturday November 19, KO 14.30

Ireland make just one change from the side that buckled under the pressure of the All Blacks, as coach Eddie O'Sullivan gives his players a chance to redeem themselves against Australia.

The Irish lost 45-7 in their last outing, due to a combination of sublime New Zealand rugby and consistent poor handling from the hosts.

O'Sullivan has left his forwards unchanged for the visit of the Wallabies, but Andrew Trimble of Ulster comes into the back division.

Anthony Horgan is the man to miss out as namesake Shane moves from outside centre to the wing in order to create room for Trimble's inclusion.

Tommy Bowe switches flanks to allow Horgan to play on his favoured wing.

O'Sullivan said of Trimble's inclusion: "Andrew is ready for international rugby. He's an outstanding player and his form has been exceptional.

"I thought New Zealand was not the best game to give him his first Test start but I had to use him this autumn and this is the best time.

"Defensively he's strong. He's very gutsy, quick and a good ball carrier who likes to take players on and run at them."

Australia coach Eddie Jones has made changes to his front-row as his side seek to avoid a record eighth consecutive defeat.

Props David Fitter and Greg Holmes both come into the team for their first starting caps at the expense of injured Matt Dunning and dropped Al Baxter.

"They (Fitter and Holmes) will require enthusiasm and courage," said Jones. "It is going to be a big thing for them. The Irish have a very experienced front-row.

"While Matt Dunning's coming along well, he's just not ready to play at the moment so Holmes will get a chance to start at loosehead.

"We also feel Fitter deserves the opportunity at tighthead after making some good progress on the tour and he's a bloke who's very passionate about scrummaging."

The only other changes to the side that lost to England last time out is the inclusion on the bench of Matt Henjak and Wendell Sailor.
