Lamb and Roberts to join Northampton at end of season

Northampton have secured the signings of half-backs Ryan Lamb and Martin Roberts ahead of the 2011/12 season. Fly-half Lamb will make the move from London Irish, where he has recently lost his place in the side to Chris Malone. The deal would appear to throw into doubt the future of Northampton's Shane Geraghty, who also moved to the Saints from the Exiles two years ago but has fallen out of favour in recent times. "I've really enjoyed my time at London Irish and am thankful to the coaches at the club, particularly Mike Catt," Lamb said. "It has been an important part of my career, but I'm really looking forward to teaming up with the Saints from next season." Roberts makes the switch from Magners League outfit the Scarlets, where the 24-year-old has made 88 appearances for the region since joining in 2008. He said: "The prospect of playing Aviva Premiership Rugby is exciting. Northampton is one of the top clubs in England and in Europe at the moment with some top players."
