Black and McComish agree to summer moves

Ulster have made a double swoop for next season with Callum Black and Michael McComish agreeing to deals. Former Ireland Under-21s prop Black will make the switch from Championship outfit Worcester, while No.8 McComish returns to Ulster from Connacht. Black, 25, has worked his way through the academy set-up at the Warriors but he will make the move to Ulster in a bid to further his international ambitions. "This is a new and exciting challenge for me," Black told the official Ulster site. "I'm at the stage in my career where I'm looking to really push on and I'm really looking forward to playing in the Magners League and Heineken Cup. "I've watched Ulster this season and been very impressed with how the team is developing and I'm looking forward to being part of that.

Delighted

"My goal is to establish myself in the Ulster team and then try to force my way into the Ireland set up." The 27-year-old McComish was previously a development player at Ulster, before having spells at Rotherham, Otley and Connacht. And Ulster director of rugby David Humphreys is thrilled to see both players sign. "We're delighted to announce that Callum and Michael will be joining us and strengthening our squad ahead of next season," he said "Having spent the last few seasons with Connacht, Michael has gained a lot of Magners League experience, while at just 25 Callum has amassed considerable experience from the Premiership, the Championship as well as the LV and Amlin Challenge Cup competitions and so will be a very useful addition to our front row."
