Wales flanker weighing up move to Adams Park

Wales flanker Martyn Williams is weighing up an offer to join London Wasps in the summer. Williams will be out of contract at Cardiff Blues at the end of the season, with the club initially announcing that he would not be offered a new deal due to financial restrictions. The Blues are believed to be still looking at ways of financing a deal to keep Williams, however they face serious competition from Wasps for the 35-year-old. Wasps have singled out Williams, who has been capped 98 times and played for the Lions, as the ideal replacement for former France international Serge Betsen. Betsen is poised to return home at the end of the current campaign, while Wasps also have fears over Tom Rees after a third shoulder operation. Williams would join fellow Wales back-row Andy Powell and national defence coach Shaun Edwards should he accept two-year deal at Adams Park.
