Toulouse half-back Frédéric Michalak has headed to South Africa in a bid to step up his rehabilitation from injury.
The France international, who has been capped 54 times, has been sidelined for five months after rupturing ligaments in his knee.
However Michalak has returned to his former club the Sharks in Durban to use their facilities in.
The 27-year-old has begun running again in a bid to return, although he is still six weeks away from returning to action.
That will please Toulouse who have seen fellow half-back Byron Kelleher struggle to recover from a cracked jaw.
The Heineken Cup champions due have options at scrum-half, though, with Argentina international Nicolas Vergallo having joined the club in the off-season.
