Waratahs forward to miss South Africa tour

New South Wales Waratahs forward Dean Mumm has been given a two-week ban for foul play during his side's 32-30 Super 14 victory over Queensland Reds on February 13. Mumm was cited for illegally clearing Reds replacement hooker Saia Faingaa from a ruck during the Brisbane encounter. He was found guilty at a SANZAR disciplinary hearing and will duly miss the Waratahs' fixtures with the Stormers in Cape Town (Feb 20) and the Bulls in Pretoria (Feb 27). Meanwhile, Waratahs lock Will Caldwell and Reds lock Adam Byrnes were cleared by judicial officer Paul Tully having been cited for incidents in the same game. Caldwell was cleared of making contact with the eye of an opponent, while Byrnes was found not guilty of biting.
