Ireland hooker signs 12-month contract extension

Connacht hooker Sean Cronin has committed his immediate future to the province after signing a 12-month extension to his current deal. The 23-year-old Ireland international joined the club in 2008 after coming through Munster's academy. Cronin has impressed during his time at the Sportsground, and was rewarded with his first cap when he replaced Jerry Flannery in the autumn international against Fiji. And Connacht chief executive Gerry Kelly is delighted that Cronin has agreed to extend his stay. "It is very encouraging to see a young player come here and progress to be a full international inside a year and a half," said Kelly.
