Utility back replaces Jones in training squad

Scarlets utility back Morgan Stoddart has been called into Wales' Invesco Perpetual Series squad following an injury to Mark Jones. Fellow Scarlet Jones has picked up a knee injury and Stoddart will report for squad training on Thursday. Despite his commitments with the national side, the 25-year-old will be released back to his region for their LV= Cup clash with Harlequins at The Stoop on Sunday, before rejoining Warren Gatland's national squad the following Tuesday ahead of their match against Samoa. "Morgan is an intelligent attacking player who will provide cover for us across the back three," said Wales assistant coach Rob Howley. "He is a player we know very well and just as importantly he knows our squad environment very well and should be able to slot into things fairly quickly." Stoddart has won three caps and last played for Wales during their victory over Canada in the 2008 Invesco Perpetual Series. His other two international caps came against South Africa, making his debut against the Springboks on Wales' summer tour in 2007.
