Australia flanker David Pocock is determined not to see his side rest on their laurels following their giant-killing exploits against South Africa.
Pocock played a starring role in his side's 21-6 victory over the world champions, in what was his first Tri-Nations start, having come off the bench in the opening four matches of the tournament.
But the 21-year-old is refusing to get carried away and knows the win will count for nothing if they cannot build on it in next Saturday's clash against New Zealand in Wellington.
"Great to get a win and I guess as a group a real good step in the right direction," said Pocock on last weekend's victory.
"A lot of the stuff we worked on during the week we executed which was very pleasing, but we know that the All Blacks are going to be a totally different challenge in Wellington.
"The win in Brisbane is good but I guess we've really got to consolidate for that Wellington game.
"There are a lot of areas that we need to work on and we know the All Blacks are going to be really up for it, especially if they beat the Springboks and the Springboks don't get that bonus point the Tri-Nations is up for grabs for them so it's going to be a big game."
Opportunity
Coach Robbie Deans is equally reluctant to dwell on the past and instead is focusing on finishing the Wallabies campaign on a high.
"To play against a side that was travelling as well as the Springboks and to have really taken them outside of their comfort zone and then ultimately to have prevailed was a good day at the office," he said.
"We want to retain some of the belief that came out of that and there are elements in that game that we made progress in.
"We've got one more opportunity in the Tri-Nations and while we're actually out of the Tri-Nations itself we'll be seeking to back up with another really good performance, and if that's good enough to result in a win then so be it."
