Bristol boss wary of England kicker

Bristol head coach Richard Hill has highlighted the threat of Sale No.10 Charlie Hodgson ahead of his side's Guinness Premiership clash with the Sharks on Friday night. A win for Sale at the Memorial Stadium would see Kingsley Jones' men climb to at least third in the table as the race for a top four finish gathers momentum. However, Hill is eager to put a dent in the visitors title charge, and the former England flanker believes the key to doing so will be how his men handle Sharks fly-half Hodgson. Hill said: "If he (Hodgson) doesn't play, they don't win.

Difficult to stop

"He is a key individual for them who can play two ways. He can either kick you to death, as he did to us earlier in the season, or he can bang out those long passes. "Sale tend not to play too much in their own half, they will kick the ball to put pressure on the opposition. "They also raise the pace of the game when they get into the attacking third, and then they are difficult to stop. "You have to be able to do deal with their kicks, and we've done a lot of work with our back three on how to secure the ball and get out of our own third."
