Gloucester have boosted their squad ahead of the 2015-16 season by signing New Zealander Tom Marshall.

Marshall, 24, will move to Kingsholm from Super Rugby’s Chiefs, and is capable of playing at centre, on the wing, or at full-back.

The Auckland-born player is a former New Zealand U20 international who has represented Tasman Makos in the ITM Cup, and the Crusaders and Chiefs in Super Rugby.

Marshall played 56 games the Crusaders in the Super 15, before moving to the Chiefs in 2013, where he played in every game of the team’s 2014 season.

Gloucester director of rugby David Humphreys said Marshall’s best years were “still ahead of him”.

"He's got good physical presence but is also a top quality footballer, whose versatility will give us a number of options across the back line,” Humphreys told Gloucester's official website.
