Cian Healy: Lions prop cited after win over Western Force
British and Irish Lions prop Cian Healy has been cited for an alleged bite during the 69-17 victory over Western Force.
The Ireland forward clashed with Force scrum-half Brett Sheehan in the 17th minute of the game in Perth and Sheehan gave a statement to citing commissioner Freek Burger after the game.
Video replays at the time were inconclusive but a disciplinary hearing will be held on Friday.
Healy injury concern
Previous sanctions for biting have been heavy, but Healy could be facing a spell on the sidelines anyway after being carried off with suspected ankle ligament damage before the interval and being sent to hospital for X-rays.
Alex Corbisiero, currently in Argentina with England, has been summoned by the Lions management to join the playing party as cover and head coach Warren Gatland said after the game: "I think the citing guy has had a look at it and he can't find anything."
Sheehan was also interviewed pitchside and said: "Don't know if it was an accident or on purpose but unfortunately he's injured now so we'll see."
The ARU said, in a statement: "British and Irish Lions prop, Cian Healy, has been cited for acts contrary to good sportsmanship against Emirates Western Force scrum-half, Brett Sheehan, in the opening match of the DHL Australia 2013 Lions Tour.
Lions make it two wins on Tour
"Healy has been cited under Law 10.4.m Acts contrary to good sportsmanship, a player may not bite an opponent. The incident occurred in the 17th minute.
"Healy will now appear at a judicial hearing tomorrow, Thursday June 6, at the Sofitel Hotel in Brisbane."
The Lions face the Queensland Reds in Brisbane on Saturday.
