Wentzel: Has left Leeds
Leeds have confirmed skipper Marco Wentzel has left the club by mutual consent - just three months after signing a new deal.
The former Leicester second row had agreed a two-year deal in February and appeared set to honour his contract despite the club's relegation.
"Having spoken with Gary Hetherington, I understand the position that the club is in and whilst it is still a tough decision to leave the club, I hope they can achieve their goals for next season."

However following talks with the club's chief executive Gary Hetherington, Wentzel has been allowed to leave to explore other options.
"On behalf of everyone at the club, I would like to thank Marco for his efforts during his two seasons at Headingley Carnegie," said Hetherington.
"Unfortunately following relegation we have had to make some tough decisions about the club to enable us to build a squad that is capable of challenging to return to the Aviva Premiership at the earliest possible opportunity. We wish Marco all the best for the future."
The 32-year-old has held talks with other clubs, however he remains undecided about his next move.
"Having spoken with Gary Hetherington, I understand the position that the club is in and whilst it is still a tough decision to leave the club, I hope they can achieve their goals for next season," said Wentzel.
"The club faces some financial challenges for next season and if, by me leaving, they are able to attract two or three players to strengthen the squad, I understand their position.
"I will miss Leeds and Yorkshire a lot and I would like to thank the supporters for their fantastic backing of the team and me personally during my time at the club. I have spoken to a number of clubs but have not made any decisions as yet however obviously I will need to do that in due course."
Wentzel is the latest player to leave the club with Steve Thompson (Wasps), Kearnan Myall, Luther Burrell, Scott Mathie (all Sale), Alfie To'oala (La Rochelle) and James Craig (Northampton) all departing.
Hendre Fourie, Juan Gomez and Semi Tadulala are among the members of the remaining squad that have been linked to moves away.
