Wing keen to press his case for the Six Nations and World Cup

Ulster wing Andrew Trimble has become the latest player to commit his future to the Ravenhill club by signing a new two-year contract. The 26-year-old has won 31 caps for Ireland since making his debut against Australia in 2005 and has played for Ulster on 111 occasions. His signing follows new Ulster deals for international flanker Stephen Ferris, as well as lock Dan Tuohy and academy products Nevin Spence and Paddy McAllister. "Ulster and Irish rugby are going from strength to strength and my decision to stay in Ireland was to make sure I was part of that," Trimble said. "We have some big games coming up, so I am really happy that I was able to agree my new contract before we went into the busy period. "As well as the challenges we have coming up, I was conscious that I also wanted to concentrate on playing as well as possible here so I can challenge for a place with Ireland ahead of the Six Nations and the World Cup."
