Cockerill dismisses rumours linking the club to Australian winger

Leicester Tigers have dismissed speculation linking them to a move for former Australia winger Lote Tuqiri. The dual-code international is currently a free agent after he was sacked by the Australian Rugby Union in July - and has been linked to potential moves to England, Wales and France. However, although the Tigers are keen to bolster their backline following an injury-hit start to the season, Tuqiri is not set for Welford Road. "We are linked with everyone because we are Leicester Tigers, but this is the same guy who has been linked to Bayonne and everywhere else," Leicester chief Richard Cockerill told the Leicester Mercury. "People approach us because we are a top club. As far as I am aware, there is nothing in it. "If there is a really good player out there who wants to come and play for free though, they can give me a ring."
