Gaetan Charbonnier scored three minutes into injury time to earn Reims a 1-0 win as Nice's terrible run of form continued. Charbonnier's calm finish at the death kept the hosts firmly in the hunt for a European place, but condemned Nice to a seventh straight Ligue 1 defeat. The hosts started brightly with Floyd Ayite teeing up Mads Albaek for a long-range effort which forced a save out of Luca Veronese. The Nice goalkeeper was tested again by an Ayite free-kick before the visitors finally started to find their feet. Good interplay involving Nampalys Mendy and Christian Bruls sent Didier through on goal, but keeper Kossi Agassa blocked his close-range shot. Reims had the first chance of the second half and again Ayite was in the thick of the action. His free-kick from the right picked out Prince Oniangue, whose header was just wide. Nice were growing in confidence as the match progressed though, and Dario Cvitanich launched a counter-attack which finished with Eric Bautheac firing in a shot, Agassa going down to make the save. The two Nice men combined again in the 89th minute to create a shooting chance for Valentin Eysseric, but his effort was deflected behind. But just as the visitors looked set to end their losing streak they were hit with a sucker punch. Oniangue played Charbonnier in between Mathieu Bodmer and Nemanja Pejcinovic and the striker steadied himself before firing home the winner.
