Clemence scores last-minute winner at City Ground

Leicester City produced a remarkable late comeback to beat Nottingham Forest 3-2 in the rearranged Carling Cup second round tie. The initial meeting was called off at half-time when Clive Clarke collapsed in the dressing room when Forest were leading 1-0 at The City Ground. As a sporting gesture, Forest were allowed to take the lead from the kick-off when goalkeeper Paul Smith ran from the halfway line to score into an inviting net. New Foxes boss Gary Megson, who was returning to one of his old clubs, saw his team level on 31 minutes when Alan Sheehan curled home a free-kick from 25 yards. But Forest appeared to have set up a third-round meeting with Aston Villa when Nathan Tyson's first-time shot nestled into the net on 64 minutes. Leicester, though, rallied in the closing stages to turn the game on its head with two goals in as many minutes. Substitute Richard Stearman was the first to strike on 88 minutes when he lashed home from Matty Fryatt's pass. And in the final minute, Leicester poached a winner as Stephen Clemence drilled into the bottom corner after good work from Mark de Vries.
