Keeper pens three-year contract at the Reebok Stadium

Bolton Wanderers have confirmed that Andy Lonergan will form part of their promotion push in 2012/13, with the keeper having completed a move from Leeds United. Sky Sports revealed earlier on Tuesday that the 28-year-old shot-stopper was all set to link up with the Trotters. An undisclosed fee has now been agreed between the two clubs and Lonergan has signed a three-year contract at the Reebok Stadium. He will add useful Championship experience to Owen Coyle's ranks, having made over 240 second tier appearances in his career to date.

Experience

Bolton hope that kind of know-how will serve them well as they attempt to bounce back into the Premier League at the first time of asking. They claim to have fended off interest from a number of rival suitors to secure Lonergan's signature and are confident he will prove to be a shrewd acquisition. Coyle told the club's official website: There were four clubs in for Andy so we are pleased that he signed for us. "We have a player who has a wealth of experience at this level and also his signing will add to the competition for the keeper's jersey."
