Striker leaves Derby for Ashton Gate

Bristol City have signed Steve Davies from Championship rivals Derby County. As revealed by skysports.com last month, the Robins were leading the chase to sign the unsettled forward. Davies had been on the transfer list at Pride Park after seeking a move away for family reasons. A number of clubs had expressed an interest in the former Tranmere man, but Bristol City won the race for the 24-year-old's signature. Davies has signed a three-year deal at Ashton Gate after agreeing personal terms and passing a medical. His arrival is a major boost for Robins boss Derek McInnes as he has been desperate to bolster his side's attacking options all summer.
