Celta Vigo broke a four-match winless run as they claimed a thumping 5-0 victory away at fellow-strugglers Malaga. Alex Lopez got the opener and fellow midfielder Augusto Fernandez doubled the lead before the break. Lopez bagged his second in the 65th minute and further goals from Nolito and Charles Dias completed the rout against a Malaga side who have now lost three games in a row. The game was only six minutes old when when Lopez broke the deadlock with a little help from Fernandez. The latter provided a pass to Lopez on the right who fired home from 20 yards. Mounir El Hamdaoui had the chance to bring Malaga level but mishit his shot providing an easy save for Yoel Rodriguez in the Celta net. The second goal came in the 23rd minute as Charles played the ball across the penalty area and Fernandez was on hand to volley home from six yards. Malaga boss Bernd Schuster made a double change at half-time with Pedro Morales and Bobley Anderson entering the fray and the latter nearly got them back in it, only to see his close-range header tipped over the bar by Willy Caballero. That was the only real impact the changes would make, though, as Celta had their third goal soon after. It resulted from an almighty scramble as Nolito's shot hit the post and bounced to Fernandez who brought a smart save from Caballero. The goalkeeper was only capable of parrying his effort out, however, and Lopez headed home the rebound. It was 4-0 in the 73rd minute but there was nothing scrappy about Nolito's strike as the forward unleashed a shot from 18 yards which flew into the top corner giving Caballero no chance. Levy Madinda put a shot wide when he had a chance to extend the lead but the fifth goal was not long in coming as Charles converted David Rodriguez's cross in the 81st minute to seal a comfortable win.
