Lazio claimed their first win of the new Serie A season as they cruised to a 3-0 victory over Cesena on Sunday.

The hosts released all of their frustration at losing their league opener at AC Milan on a Cesena side that failed to even manage a single shot on goal throughout the clash at the Stadio Olimpico.

Antonio Candreva celebrated his 300th league appearance in style by scoring his team's opener in the 19th minute, before setting Marco Parolo up for Lazio's second. Substitute Stefano Mauri made it 3-0 with seconds remaining.

The visitors struggled to show the hunger that saw them beat Parma 1-0 in their first game back in Italy's top flight.

Lazio dominated possession and almost went in front as early as the ninth minute.

Candreva's powerful free-kick from 30 yards forced Cesena goalkeeper Nicola Leali to palm the ball over the bar, but it would only give them a short respite.

Ten minutes later Candreva got behind Edson Braafheid's cross and struck a vicious right-footed volley past Leali.

Filip Djordjevic should have extended Lazio's lead in the 34th minute but he failed to get a touch on Candreva's fantastic cross towards the far post.

Cesena coach Pierpaolo Bisoli made a double substitution after the re-start, with Milan Djuric and Antonio Mazzotta entering the fray.

However, it had little impact as Lazio made it 2-0 in the 56th minute when Parolo's powerful header from Candreva's cross beat Leali.

In the 77th minute, Leali was forced to fully stretch to clear Candreva's 30-yard effort.

But Lazio were not done and they managed to compound Cesena's misery before the final whistle.

Substitute Miroslav Klose fed Mauri in the box and the Lazio captain fired a strike past Leali and into the back of the net.
