Glenn Murray and Jake Gray were on target as Crystal Palace began their US tour with a 2-2 stalemate against Columbus Crew in Ohio.
The Eagles headed to the States on the back of a 14-1 rout of Austrian club Grazer AK last week, but things were not so easy against the MLS side.
Tony Pulis' men fell behind early on to an Adam Bedell header but Murray equalised with his own header 10 minutes before the break.
Murray was then replaced at the interval along with skipper Mile Jedinak and keeper Julian Speroni, with Marouane Chamakh, Barry Bannan and Wayne Hennessey coming on.
Chamakh was denied by the woodwork in the 70th minute but fellow substitute Gray was able to turn the rebound into the net to hand his side the lead.
However, Daniel Paladini's late equaliser denied the Eagles a winning start to their three-match tour.
