Hylton's late, late goal show

Image: Hylton: Claims a point

Danny Hylton's late goal denied Terry Brown the perfect return to the EBB Stadium, as Aldershot drew 1-1 with AFC Wimbledon.

Max Porter's first-half header looked to have maintained the Dons' impressive start to life in the Football League, but Hylton's heavily deflected shot four minutes into stoppage time earned the hosts a deserved point. The contest marked Brown's first return to the Shots since his departure in 2007 while it was also a day of nostalgia for Dean Holdsworth, given his links with the Wimbledon name. But, with the way his side started, the manager appeared in no mood for sentiment. After Hylton clipped the bar, the visitors took the lead against the run of play as Porter looped a header over goalkeeper Ross Worner. Jermaine McGlashan appeared destined to equalise on the brink of half-time, but blazed his volley over the bar, and in the second half Adam Mekki and Anthony Straker were both guilty of shooting over when well placed. But after Ricky Wellard's sending off, Hylton made sure the Shots earned a point as his shot deflected past the despairing Seb Brown.
