Christian Jolley's injury-time winner helped AFC Wimbledon beat Port Vale 3-2 for their first ever Football League home win.

It looked as if Vale sub Sam Morsy had sealed a deserved point for the visitors in a topsy-turvy game, but Jolley bent a 94th-minute shot into the bottom corner. Vale dominated the first half but fell behind when goalkeeper Stuart Tomlinson dragged debutant Kieran Djalili down in the box and Jack Midson slotted home the rebound from Luke Moore's penalty miss. However, after only 39 seconds of the second-half, the lively Louis Dodds curled a splendid shot in from the left-hand corner of the area. But the Dons recovered once more and regained the lead thanks to Gareth Gwillim's unstoppable 25-yard thunderbolt on the hour mark. The game continued to swing from one end to another and Vale equalised for the second time when a loose ball fell to Morsy and he drilled it into the bottom corner. The linesman's flag was raised, but after consulting with him the referee decided to allow the goal but ultimately it counted for nothing as Jolley snatched the victory for the Dons.
