Hamilton player-manager Alex Neil believes his side can continue to prove the doubters wrong following the 1-0 victory over St Johnstone.
Darian MacKinnon’s early strike at New Douglas Park gave Accies their second victory in three Scottish Premiership games this season.
And Neil reckons his charges have shown great resolve following their opening day defeat to Inverness Caley on their return to the top-flight last weekend.
Neil said: "After the first game, I know a lot of people had written us off and were saying Hamilton were doomed and that we only have young boys.
"But I think we have certainly shown in the last two games that we are a wee bit more than that. We have got real quality and a great work ethic as well.
"The strength will come from the group, they will work their socks off for each other.
"We are not going to win every game, we know that, but we will give it our best shot.
"And, if the guys play to their potential, there's no reason why we won't upset teams."
Saints boss Tommy Wright feels his team were punished for a sluggish start at Hamilton, as they slumped to their second defeat in four days.
Wright said: "The lesson we have learned is that if you don't start the game until half-time, you end up losing the game.
"We didn't really compete in the first half and made it all too easy for Hamilton. We were probably lucky to go in 1-0 down at half-time.
"The second half was a lot better and we probably should have got something from the game with the number of opportunities that we created.
"The second half was more like us, but the damage was done in the first half."
