Gary Madine: Sheffield Wednesday striker is confident an upturn in form is just around the corner
Sheffield Wednesday striker Gary Madine believes there is too much quality at the club for them to be languishing for long.
The Owls lie third from bottom in the Championship after winning just two of their 10 league games but Madine is confident they can turn their fortunes around - starting with Friday's Sky Live clash against Leeds at Hillsborough.
"When we play Leeds, hopefully it's going to kick-start our season," Madine told the club's official website.
"It's a big game, the fans will be there in their numbers as always and we're looking forward to it.
"We have quality all over the pitch and we will get out of this run, including Michail Antonio, who can beat a man and put the ball on someone's head."
Madine, who has started most games on the substitutes' bench this season, is pushing hard for a recall after netting twice for the reserves in midweek.
"I've never had a run in the Championship and I'm absolutely itching for one," he added.
"I'm more than confident that if I play I'll get goals. I showed that the other night. I had two chances and scored two goals. I'm ready and waiting. The gaffer knows I'm there."
