Blackburn continue to set the pace in the Championship while Hull City, Brighton, Blackpool and Cardiff are hot on their coat tails after victories.

Strike pair Jordan Rhodes and Nuno Gomes saw Rovers come from behind to beat Barnsley 2-1 to remain a point ahead of the chasing pack.

A Nathan Delfouneso double set Blackpool on the road to a 4-1 victory over Middlesbrough while a Craig Mackail-Smith penalty on 50 minutes earned Brighton the points at Watford.

Hull City came out on top in a pulsating Yorkshire derby at Elland Road, hitting back from conceding a Luciano Becchio spot-kick to beat Leeds 3-2.

Cardiff were indebted to second half goals from Peter Whittingham and Craig Noone to earn them the three points at Millwall which keep them hot on the heels of the Championship leaders.

Jamie Ward's first double for Derby helped the Rams secure back-to-back Championship victories at Pride Park.

But what should have been a comfortable win for Nigel Clough's side turned out to be anything but in the end as they eventually held on to a 3-2 win over Charlton.

Struggling Peterborough remain without a point after falling to a sixth successive defeat against a Bristol City side who had not scored on their travels before the clash at London Road.

Sam Baldock's two goals in six second-half minutes changed all that, as the Robins ended a two-match losing streak and bagged their first points on the road this term.

Bolton's miserable form on their travels continued as they were beaten 2-1 by Birmingham, for whom Leroy Lita scored on his home debut.

Marlon King's 48th-minute penalty proved decisive in an action-packed encounter after a stunning free-kick from Chris Eagles had cancelled out Lita's early opener.

Substitute Dexter Blackstock struck nine minutes from time to earn Nottingham Forest a point at Crystal Palace who had taken a 50th minute lead through Kagisho Dikgacoi.
