Hoops look at South African gem

Sky Sports understands that Queens Park Rangers are set to rekindle their interest in South African starlet Daylon Claasen. Mark Hughes first looked at the 22-year-old back in January, but a deal failed to materialise. But QPR are now ready to make a fresh move for his services, and with just a year left on his deal with Belgian outfit Lierse, he is unlikely to be priced out of a move. Highly-regarded Claasen is rated very highly in South Africa and many consider him as their new Steven Pienaar. The midfield schemer had an impressive campaign for Lierse last season scoring seven goals in 30 games, and now he could be set to be offered the chance of a move to the Premier League. A number of English clubs are believed to be keeping a close check on him, but QPR are very much at the head of the queue.
