Dembele and Dempsey set for Fulham contract talks

Fulham boss Martin Jol is determined to keep key duo Moussa Dembele and Clint Dempsey at Craven Cottage. Both players are under contract until 2013, but they have been linked with moves away from the Cottagers this summer. Manchester United have been credited with an interest in Dembele, while a host of clubs are keeping tabs on American ace Dempsey. Jol revealed they plan to hold talks with Dembele's agent in the next few weeks about a new long-term deal. "We're never happy with the length of contract because it finishes in 2013," said Jol.

Communicate

"We are trying to communicate with his agent. He will be here in the next couple of weeks so we will sit down and have a conversation. "He [Clint] will be here next season. His contract expires in 2013 but I would like him to stay for a longer period." Jol also warned his in-demand stars that they should think twice about leaving Fulham as the grass isn't always greener elsewhere. "I always ask how many players have done well after leaving Fulham," added Jol. "I think there's a lot of players in my team who could play for top-four sides, including Clint. But we want to keep him and he knows that."
