Wolves can secure a return to the Premier League with victory over QPR in front of a sold-out Molineux.

McCarthy's men have sights on Premier League

Wolves can secure a return to the Premier League with victory over QPR in front of a sold-out Molineux crowd on Saturday. Mick McCarthy's side have been at the summit of the Championship table for the vast majority of the campaign and know that three points this weekend will see them promoted with two games to spare. QPR have nothing left to play for but proved they cannot be written off after coming back from 2-0 down to defeat Sheffield Wednesday 3-2 on Easter Monday. Wolves hope to have leading scorer Sylvan Ebanks-Blake available after a hamstring injury kept him out of their last three games. The 24-goal marksman returned to training on Thursday with a view to being involved against the managerless Rs. Chris Iwelumo remains sidelined with the knee injury he sustained against Birmingham but is optimistic he could play some part in the final fixture of the season at home to Doncaster. Winger Michael Kightly, however, remains sidelined for the rest of the campaign with a broken metatarsal.

QPR team news

Rowan Vine is pushing for a start when QPR travel to the Midlands. The striker scored six minutes into his latest substitute appearance as Rangers produced a stirring fightback to overcome the Owls last time out. It was Vine's first goal in more than a year following his battle back from a broken leg, and he could now return to the starting line-up at Molineux. Iceland international Heidar Helguson should keep his place in attack after returning from a hamstring injury to play the full 90 minutes against Wednesday. Caretaker boss Gareth Ainsworth has no new injury worries for his third game in charge, with long-termers Akos Buzsaky, Martin Rowlands (both knee) and Patrick Agyemang (thigh) his only absentees.
