Nancy keeper Damien Gregorini earned his side a point in the goalless draw at Valenciennes. Nancy, rock bottom for so much of this season, are now a point above the relegation zone with four games to play after a six-match unbeaten run. They were distinctly second best here but emerged with a draw after a string of saves from Gregorini, most notably from Opa N'Guette midway through the second half. It was actually Nancy who threatened first, in the eighth minute, but Benjamin Moukandjo's shot from Florent Zitte's cross was saved by Nicolas Penneteau. Gregorini was tested for the first time four minutes later, turning Maor Melikson's effort away for a corner after the forward was sent clear by Gael Danic. Defender Sebastien Puygrenier was the man standing in Melikson's way when he was set up by strike partner N'Guette later in the half. And Nancy had the chance to steal a half-time lead when Djamel Bakar crossed and Lossemy Karaboue volleyed goalwards, but Penneteau saved at full stretch. Remi Gomis shot straight at Gregorini early in the second half, with Younousse Sankhare sending the rebound wide. And the visiting keeper was forced into the save of the night in the 65th minute when Sankhare set up N'Guette and he hammered the ball goalwards, only for Gregorini to somehow get himself in the way. He also denied Danic three minutes later and when he kept out Melikson's low drive later in the half, Nancy had escaped with a point.
