Gers missing trio while Morris faces fitness test

Rangers will continue their pursuit of the quadruple when they face St Johnstone in their Scottish Cup semi-final on Sunday. The Gers are looking to get back to winning ways after suffering their first domestic defeat since October in midweek. Old Firm rivals Celtic claimed a last-gasp victory at Parkhead and Rangers' disappointment was compounded by the loss of three key players for Sunday's clash at Hampden Park. Goalkeeper Allan McGregor (ankle) and Lee McCulloch (foot) could both be set for lengthy injury lay-offs after joining Charlie Adam and DaMarcus Beasley (both knee) on the sidelines, while veteran defender David Weir was handed a one-match ban for his part in the melee at the end of the Old Firm derby. Scotland international Neil Alexander is set to be in goal after being a late substitute for McGregor against Celtic, while Steven Naismith is expected to replace McCulloch on the left of midfield.

Heroics

Queen of the South lie in wait after beating Aberdeen 4-3 in the other semi-final last week and St Johnstone will be hoping to repeat the heroics of their Division One rivals. Former Chelsea midfielder Jody Morris faces a late fitness test after being ruled out for the last two weeks with a calf strain. Fit-again Martin Hardie is pushing for a starting berth, although fellow midfielder Rocco Quinn is definitely out thorugh injury.
