Northampton v Huddersfield preview

Cobblers hope to avoid being bitten by Terriers

Two sides stuck in the middle of the League One table meet on Saturday as Northampton entertain Huddersfield. The Cobblers currently sit closer to the drop zone than they do the play-off places at present, so they will be keen to improve a recent run which has brought just one win from their last six fixtures. The Terriers, meanwhile, sit just five points off the top six and could take another step closer to the promotion hopefuls with a fifth win in seven outings.

Northampton team news

Northampton manager Stuart Gray is set to be forced into at least four changes to his side this weekend. The Cobblers' clash with Brighton was postponed last week due to a frozen pitch and Gray has seen loanees Scott McGleish, Andy Todd and Kyle Walker return to their parent clubs. Wing-back Liam Davis is out with a one-game ban which he should have served at Brighton and Ipswich defender Kurt Robinson has also returned to Portman Road. Captain Chris Doig remains the only long-term absentee as he nurses his way back from a hamstring injury. Gray said: "We were hoping that Chris was going to play for the reserves this week but that game was postponed. "There is another reserve game scheduled for next week so hopefully he will play in that. We don't want to take any risks with Chris and we will only put him back in the first team when we feel and he feels that he is ready."
Huddersfield team news
Huddersfield manager Lee Clark has no fresh injury concerns ahead of the trip to Sixfields. Clark was again grateful to midfielder Michael Collins last weekend after he popped up with an equaliser against Oldham and he will again partner Jim Goodwin in the centre. Left-back Joe Skarz has rejoined full training following an ankle injury while midfielder Michael Flynn has returned from a five-game loan spell with League Two side Darlington where he regained match fitness after injury. Both were overlooked against Oldham but are in contention to feature on Saturday. Veteran forward Andy Booth is some way off a return to first-team action following surgery on his back.
