Queens Park Rangers manager Chris Ramsey has set the club a "minimum requirement" target of four points from the next two games if they are to avoid relegation.
Rangers, who are languishing second from bottom of the Premier League on 22 points following a run of five consecutive defeats, face two tough away trips to West Brom on Saturday and Aston Villa on Tuesday night.
Ramsey said: "We need four to six points from the next two games - that's the minimum requirement for us.
"You wouldn't believe we are where we are when you see the confidence of this group of players. But we know we need victories and we remain confident as a group.
"Despite the run of results, we're still in touch. We've been fortunate that other results have been in our favour.
"As the games dwindle away, the other results around us become more important.
"I believe that we've got the capacity to survive in this league. I do, and the players do as well.
"There's no doom and gloom here. We're as upbeat as we can be in this situation. We need high energy performances."
Ramsey's contract at Loftus Road expires at the end of the season and he admits it is a worry to hear other managers being linked with his job.
He said: "I think it (the speculation) is always a concern. Looking at it from afar, from all the different managers, you always get that especially in the Premier League.
"If you have a dodgy half, they're talking about other managers. Coming into this sport, I've seen this circus for years and I know when you come into it you're going to have criticisms.
"Some will think you're doing the right thing and others won't like you. If there's speculation about a new manager, I can't take that on unless it becomes imminent and I've got to clear my locker.
"It's one of those things you expect in the toughest, biggest, most watched league in the world and I can't control that sort of speculation."
