Burnley boss Sean Dyche is not giving up hope of Premier League survival, despite a 2-0 defeat at Liverpool leaving them three points from safety with 10 games remaining.
Dyche’s side have not won in seven Premier League games, and fell to goals from Jordan Henderson and Daniel Sturridge on Wednesday.
The 43-year-old feels his side were beaten by the stronger team at Anfield, despite showing glimpses of quality, but insisted they would keep fighting.
“There’s no giving up on the relegation fight,” said Dyche. “People know how I work. There will be no giving up.
“We came across a side who are in the zone, multimillion pound players doing what multimillion pound players do.
“We gave away a soft first goal, and another one in the second half. We can’t do that at this level.”
Burnley have lost six of their last eight games in all competitions, and after Aston Villa lifted themselves out of the drop zone with a win against West Brom, Dyche knows the midweek programme hasn’t gone their way.
But the Clarets boss is confident his side’s character will help them for the remaining games.
“There’s a resilience about us, a way of working, our lads did stick in there. We had a couple of maybe moments but not enough.
“That mentality will serve us well.”
