Leicester manager Nigel Pearson spoke bullishly about his future after a 2-1 defeat to Arsenal, insisting he has a good relationship with the club's owners.
Reports suggested the Foxes manager was sacked on Sunday but the club later issued a statement saying he was still in charge at the King Power Stadium.
It was business as usual for Pearson at the Emirates and despite a result on Tuesday that leaves his side rooted to the bottom of the table, he remained defiant when posed with questions about his job.
“My relationship with our owners remains very good,” he said.
“Professionally very good, on a personal level good. But he’s (Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha) my boss and I’m very pleased to be his manager, and the most important thing is that we work as hard as we can to alter our fortunes.
“I’m confident and have the belief in everybody associated with the club that we can do that.”
Laurent Koscielny and Theo Walcott put Arsenal 2-0 up in the first half at the Emirates Stadium, before Andrej Kramaric pulled one back for a Leicester side who created a string of chances.
Pearson switched to a different formation with five in defence as they made life difficult for the Gunners, and the Foxes boss was delighted with the overall performance of his side.
“What pleased me about these players is that they never hide,” he added.
“They’re never afraid to shoulder responsibility for their own performances, and playing a system that we’ve done almost zero work on is a testament to the fact we’ve got intelligent footballers.
“Tonight we started with a very experienced line-up, especially in terms of the defensive side of it.
“We’ve got players with good game understanding and they proved it tonight in dealing with a new system.”
