Northern Ireland have arranged a friendly with future World Cup hosts Qatar on Sunday, May 31.

The fixture will take place at Gresty Road in Crewe, with a 5pm kick-off.

The sides have never faced each other before, with the Irish FA using the game as a warm-up for their Euro qualifier against Romania on June 13.

Qatar, World Cup hosts for 2022, will be using St George's Park in Burton-on-Trent as their training camp and Northern Ireland's manager Michael O'Neill said: "This match will help us retain our focus as a squad into June as we prepare for the crucial Euro match against Romania."

Northern Ireland are also hoping to set up a friendly meeting with Wales.
