Brazil star Kaka made a mark on his MLS debut, scoring a stoppage-time equaliser against fellow expansion side New York City FC.
The Florida franchise had looked set for a 1-0 defeat in front of an expectant crowd of more than 62,000 on Sunday after legendary Spain striker David Villa teed up Mix Diskerud in the 76th minute.
But World Cup winner Kaka struck with a deflected free-kick in added time to send the purple-clad home hordes into a frenzy.
Posting a picture of celebratory scenes at the Citrus Bowl, Kaka later wrote on social media: "I'm delighted to be a part of this historic day, for me, for the club, for the city, for the MLS and for everyone involved."
