Dutch Cup holders Twente sailed through to the third round of the KNVB Beker while there were also wins for PSV Eindhoven, Ajax, Waalwijk, Heracles Almelo and Den Haag.
Eredivise leaders
Twente had no trouble disposing of
Zwaluwen Vlaardingen thanks to a comprehensive 8-1 win on Wednesday evening.
Dutch Under-21 midfielder Steven Berghuis scored four of the goals for Co Adriaanse's side.
Meanwhile,
PSV Eindhoven also racked up eight goals as they thumped
VVSB with Moroccan midfielder Zakaria Labyad bagging a hat-trick.
Ajax, who have won the competition a record 18 times, recorded a 3-1 win at
Noordwijkerhout , while
Heracles Almelo overcame
JVC Cuijk thanks to Glynor Plet's early effort.
Waalwijk also won away at
Hilversum's Mandemakers Stadion thanks to a 3-0 victory while
Den Haag completed another away win for the Eredivise sides with a 3-1 win at
SVV Scheveningen.
In the all-Eredivise clash
De Graafschap defeated
Utrecht 4-3 in a penalty shoot-out after the game ended 1-1 after extra-time. Dulee Johnson gave the hosts the lead but Utrecht hit back through Australian youngster Tommy Oar on the stroke of half-time but the hosts eventually prevailed on spot kicks.
