Dale hope to continue promotion push

Rochdale are hoping to consolidate their position in the play-off places when they host Grimsby on Saturday. Dale beat Bradford 2-1 on Tuesday to register a third straight win and move into the top seven with seven games remaining. Grimsby have suffered three defeats in their last five league games and will be aiming to bounce back after losing 2-0 to MK Dons in last week's Johnstone's Paint Trophy final at Wembley.

Injury problems

But Grimsby boss Alan Buckley has a host of injury problems, while Rochdale's Keith Hill has virtually a full-strength squad to choose from. Goalkeepers Sam Russell and James Spencer are Dale's only injury concerns so on-loan Macclesfield keeper Tommy Lee should again deputise, while on-loan Wigan youngster Lewis Montrose could be handed a debut. Grimsby have doubts over defender Robert Atkinson (groin), striker Danny North (knee), and midfield pair James Hunt (hamstring) and Paul Bolland (dead leg), who all started last week's cup final defeat. Peter Bore (thigh) and Ciaran Toner (knee) featured off the bench at Wembley and are also battling to recover in time. Defender Matthew Bird may come in for his first-team debut while 19-year-old Andy Taylor may be handed a rare start and fellow striker Nathan Jarman could also feature.
