Hearts ace targeting improved 09/10 season

Ruben Palazuelos sees no reason why Hearts cannot secure a top two SPL finish next season, provided they strengthen their squad over the summer. The Tynecastle outfit will finish third in the table this time around, although they are a whopping 23 points behind second-placed Celtic. Palazuelos has acknowledged there is a gap between Hearts and the Old Firm, but he believes with more quality signings they could secure second. "The gap between us and Celtic and Rangers is big," explained Palazuelos. "The difference is huge in terms of points but we have played well against the Old Firm in the SPL this season.

Most money

"Celtic and Rangers have the stronger squads and better players because they have the most money. "If we add real quality to our squad then we can finish second." Meanwhile, Palazuelos is retaining hope the club will be able to retain out of contract Bruno Aguiar, who is expected to move on in the summer. "There is a lot of speculation about Bruno but I would love to see him stay at Hearts," he concluded.
