Rangers manager believes the club cannot afford to wait for a deal

Rangers manager Ally McCoist admits he is keen for the club's financial problems to be solved as quickly as possible. The club have suffered a new blow following Singapore businessman Bill Ng's decision to pull out of a potential takeover deal on Friday. It follows the decision of consortium Blue Knights to withdraw from a deal with liquidation remaining a threat for the Scottish giants. McCoist, whose side are 18 points behind champions Celtic in the Scottish Premier League table following a points deduction, believes the club cannot afford to wait much longer. He said: "It's only my opinion but I don't think we can wait until anything like the end of May. That's just my opinion, it's not what I've been told." McCoist has been talking to potential investors but the Gers chief had not spoken to Ng's group. He admitted that he could not give a reaction to their withdrawal: "I don't really know because I hadn't spoken to them in the first place. "They have obviously weighed up all the options and decided it's not for them, which they are absolutely entitled to do. "But, not having spoken to them, I couldn't really give you an opinion on it because I don't really have one. "It's not up to me to have a preferred bidder. I have to remain completely and utterly open-minded about it. "The only thing that I wish for is somebody who has the club's best interests at heart to take it over. "I would have no problem with anybody that I've spoken to taking it over because I do believe they have the club's best interests at heart. "My main concern is that we get a positive result. That's all that matters."
