Poland midfielder snubs Club Brugge for Germany move

Bundesliga strugglers Kaiserslautern have finally sealed the capture of Polish international midfielder Ariel Borysiuk to boost their survival bid.

Borysiuk was the centre of a tug of war between Kaiserslautern and Belgian outfit Club Brugge after both clubs claimed they had agreed to sign the 20-year-old from Legia Warsaw.

But Kaiserslautern general manager Stefan Kuntz confirmed the player would be heading to Germany for an undisclosed fee.

Borysiuk has signed a contract until 2016 with the third-bottom club.

Kuntz said: "We are happy Ariel is now a Kaiserslautern player. We wanted to sign him due to his skills.

"He is 20 and has already experienced 90 matches in the Polish league and 15 matches in the Europa League.

"This is an indication of the quality he is holding."

Borysiuk became Kaiserslautern's fifth arrival in the January transfer window, along with Jakub Swierczok, Anthar Yahia, Sandro Wagner and Nicolai Jorgensen.

It has allowed Israel playmaker Gil Vermouth to leave Kaiserslautern for Dutch side De Graafschap on loan until the end of the season.

Kuntz added: "Gil needs first-team football and would be unable to get that here at the moment."
