Bayern Munich continued their unbeaten start to the Bundesliga season with a 2-0 win over Freiburg on Tuesday night.

Arjen Robben scored four minutes before the break and Thomas Muller notched the second three minutes after the interval as Bayern made it five league games without conceding and moved 12 points clear at the summit.

The only downside for the defending champions came with Mehdi Benatia and Xabi Alonso both exiting with injuries.

Freiburg have now gone five league games without a win and were leapfrogged by Stuttgart who moved off the foot of the table with a 1-0 win at Hamburg.

Florian Klein put Stuttgart ahead in the 42nd minute and, despite playing 37 minutes with 10 men after the sending off of Georg Niedermaier, Huub Stevens' men held on.

Hannover claimed a 2-0 win over Augsburg with Salif Sane putting them ahead after 20 minutes and a Joselu penalty completed the scoring 10 minutes after the break.

In the evening's other game, Cologne and Mainz shared a goalless draw.
