Dutruel in Espanyol talks

ESPANYOL have seemingly given up on Coventry City's Magnus Hedman, after they moved for Barcelona's Richard Dutruel.

Dutruel, who saw a move to Rennes collapse earlier this month, is ready to stay in the Catalan capital with a move to Barca's city rivals.

The player held talks with Espanyol on Friday and is expected to complete a move early next week upon completing a medical.

The Spaniards have already agreed a deal with Arsenal for Austrian Alex Manninger and coach Juande Ramos looks to have settled on which two keepers he wants for next season and Hedman is not on the list.

The news will be a blow to the Swede, who will now be hoping that Alaves follow up their initial interest and make a firm offer.

The Coventry man has already stressed that he is desperate to leave Highfield Road.
