Injured midfielder Sergio Torres has spoken of his hopes of playing again for Lincoln City this term.
The 26-year-old was sent to the Imps on loan earlier this campaign after he was transfer listed by Peterborough following their promotion to the Championship.
The temporary deal was set to be extended until the end of the season but those plans were scuppered after he suffered ankle ligament damage in the 1-1 draw against Cheltenham in November.
But the Argentine is still hopeful that he could return to Sincil Bank to aid boss Chris Sutton's battle against relegation from League Two this term.
Torres told the
Lincolnshire Echo: "I returned to Peterborough for treatment but my agent spoke to Chris Sutton and he said that it should be OK for me to come back to Lincoln.
"The gaffer (Sutton) has been happy with me and I have enjoyed it at Lincoln.
"I knew the manager would bring in new players but he has said that he likes me and hopefully I will be back."
Less pain
But Torres has refused to put a timescale on his return to full fitness from his ankle ligament injury.
He added: "I tried running last week and it was hurting a lot so I had to stop.
"I then did some more on more on Monday and it was hurting a bit less but it was still sore.
"I don't want to put a time-scale on my return as when I was first injured I was told it would take six weeks to recover and it has already taken eight.
"I am in much less pain now than I was and I am hoping that it could be a couple of weeks, but I had the same injury on my other ankle and that took a bit longer."
